About Us

Welcome to The Bahamas Insurance Brokers Association (BIBA), established 2001.  This is a non-profit professional association of insurance intermediaries who are in good standing with regulators.

BIBA is an advocate for insurance intermediaries, who are the face of the insurance industry and the first point of contact the consumer will have.  Insurance brokers put their customers’ interest first, providing insurance advice, access to suitable insurance protection and risk management.

BIBA is also the voice of the sector advising members, regulators, consumer bodies and other stakeholders on key insurance issues.

BIBA provides opportunities to further develop its members’ level of knowledge, understanding, skill and passion for their profession.

BIBA enhances the intermediaries’ personal growth and leadership skills through discussions on current issues, participation in lectures and seminars, serving on relevant committees and participation in outreach programs.

Our Mission Statement:

To represent and protect the best interests of our insurance brokers, intermediary members and their customers.

We strive to achieve this by:

  • Promoting the services and the value of members’ contribution to the protection of our futures with advice, guidance, access to risk management and insurance solutions and by influencing the relevant decision makers and policy writers that affect our sector.
  • Maintaining and developing a stable business environment in which our members operate by keeping them informed of relevant issues, providing a forum for discussion and the exchange of non-competitive information.
  • Promoting, influencing, maintaining and supporting our members, we aim to maintain an environment where members can deliver first class insurance solutions for their customers.
